Keith & Ally Gibson, directors of WEC Senegal Keith is a sports fanatic who likes to listen to Casting Crowns. Ally’s favourite film is “Pride and Prejudice” (the 6 hour version!) and is an admirer of British Marathon runner Paula Radcliffe. Our shared passion, since arriving in Senegal in 1988, is to see Senegal won for Christ!

- The Chair -

Islam first came to the northern parts of Senegal over 900 years ago. With its 11 million population being 95% Muslim, the country is special in that its secular constitution allows for freedom of religion. The character of the people, along with the political leadership, have developed a “Teranga”, (welcome, as it is known) that is a strength of the country. Through example, word and social action the WEC team has brought the Good News of God’s love to the Senegalese people over the last 70 years. The church is small but growing. The country is open but there are so few who are willing take up the challenge of sharing their lives with these people. We are few in number but we serve a powerful God, there is always a space for others to join us – could that be you?
